US-based fitness wearables and health technology leader Garmin, through a significant new deal, has partnered with Apollo HealthAxis, a subsidiary of India's largest hospital chain, Apollo Hospitals. In a tie-up, the company hopes to further enhance health monitoring and wellness solutions. The collaboration was announced during the annual Garmin Health Summit in Prague on Monday.

This alliance promises an evolutionary shift in the way healthcare is delivered in India, as the best fitness trackers Garmin has on offer merge with Apollo Health Plans. Users across the country are going to benefit through enhanced health insights and personalized wellness programs, thus fostering proactive health management.

The Apollo HealthAxis will carry some of the Garmin range of fitness trackers in select Apollo Health Plans, so users may track their health more precisely. Furthermore, customers who buy any of the featured Garmin fitness devices will get a free subscription to Apollo ProHealth, a bespoke health program designed using AI and managed by doctors and other medical professionals. This novel program uses patient data to forecast potential health risks and advises them on their wellness path.

Its common social responsibility initiative seeks to help improve access to health care for rural communities in India. An initiative with advanced wearable technology from Garmin and deep healthcare expertise from Apollo, both are breaking the mould of delivering innovative healthcare services into underserved areas.

"By integrating our advanced fitness wearables into Apollo's trusted health services, we're helping people own their health and wellness through real-time insights and personalized wellness guidance," said Juha, Head of B2B Partnerships at Garmin.

Dr. Sai Praveen Haranath, SVP, Medical & Strategy at Apollo HealthAxis, shared the mission of improving health care at the grassroots level by leveraging technology to manage chronic conditions and enroll patients into preventive health programs across India.
