  • Jindal Steel first Indian integrated steelmaker to earn NCVET Awarding Body status
  • Can now certify vocational training programs nationwide under National Education Policy
  • Aims to boost skills, employability, and career growth across sectors

Jindal Steel has achieved a milestone by becoming the first integrated steel producer in India to be recognised as an Awarding Body by the National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET). This status allows the company to design, certify, and implement vocational training programs across the country, particularly under the Large Indian Enterprise/MNC category.

This recognition links Jindal Steel’s training efforts directly to the National Credit Framework under India’s National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. It enables the company to set skill development standards that meet industry needs, improving job readiness and creating nationally recognised certifications that are valid across sectors and regions.

Naveen Jindal, Chairman of Jindal Steel, said this recognition is a responsibility to integrate real industry knowledge into education, helping young Indians build sustainable careers in a rapidly evolving economy. The certification programs will support sectors like infrastructure, green energy, and advanced manufacturing, reducing the gap between academic learning and workplace requirements.
