Maruti Suzuki's India Manesar Facility Generated More than 1 Crore Units

The leading automobile manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd said the company has crossed the 1 crore cumulative production milestone at its Manesar facility in Haryana. This is after nearly 18 years of production, according to a statement released by the company. With this, it became the fastest of all Suzuki's global automobile manufacturing facilities to achieve the production milestone.
"It is because of our customers that we could reach this landmark. I, therefore, take this opportunity to thank them for reposing their trust in us. All the employees, business associates and the government of India have been a great source of support throughout. Thanks are also due to all those people connected with Maruti Suzuki India", he said.
Manesar facility will begin producing from 600 acres from October 2006. The products from this plant include Brezza, Ertiga, XL6, Ciaz, Dzire, Wagon R, S-Presso, and Celerio.
According to the release of the information by Maruti Suzuki India, the variants are sold not only in the domestic market but also exportment across regions including Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, and even across the neighboring Asian countries. It was there that the first Maruti Suzuki passenger car delivered to Japan was manufactured.
That is a testament to India's manufacturing capability, said Takeuchi while committing to the better of the national goal termed 'Make in India'.
We have always focused on the creation of parts in the country; due to that reason, since we began, we have managed to set up behemoth supply chains in India, according to the chief executive of the automaker.
Total production capacity at Maruti Suzuki stands at around 2.35 million units per year. Through the company so far, has produced more than 3.11 crore vehicles till October 6.
Domestic sales: Maruti Suzuki India had sold 184,727 vehicles in August compared with 181,343 in the same month last year. Number of units sold domestically stood at 148,061, while sales to other original equipment manufacturers were 8,938 and exports at 27,728.
During the six months of the current fiscal that ended on 30 September 2023, Maruti Suzuki India sold 1,063,418 units, registering an increase of 1.31 per cent from 1,050,085 units sold in the same period last fiscal. Its export figure for the first six months of FY25 stood at 148,276 units against 132,542 units in the last fiscal for the corresponding period.
