ONE launches West India North America Service to improve connectivity in India

Ocean Network Express (ONE) has revealed plans for the West India North America (WIN) service, aimed at strengthening its offerings in the Indian subcontinental market by establishing a connection between India's west coast and the US east coast. The upcoming service will provide a weekly route from Hazira, Nhava Sheva, Mundra to New York, Norfolk, Savannah, and Charleston. Additionally, it will include stops at Damietta, Algeciras, Jeddah, facilitating further connections to Mediterranean destinations in collaboration with other services. The exact launch date for this service, according to the Singapore-based company.

The new service will be operated by a fleet of nine vessels, all of which are operated by ONE. The independent nature of the WIN will provide flexibility to our valued customers, the line said. On the new service, Apramapar Singh, General Manager of India Marketing in ONE India, said the Hazira container terminal is a gateway to the industrially vibrant belt of South Gujarat, North Maharashtra and Central India. The main commodities include fast-moving consumer goods such as electronics, perishables such as foodstuff and retail goods including textiles and apparel. Furthermore, chemical moving between these two countries will benefit from the direct and increased capacity. ONE’s new WIN will provide customers in this region with a fast and direct service to meet their needs for on-time delivery to and from North America

Stating that India's significance in global trade is on the rise, Ocean Network Express (ONE) referred to the country's substantial merchandise trade export volume, which reached around $453 billion in 2022. According to the World Trade Outlook and Statistics published by the World Trade Organization, India experienced a remarkable 15 percent annual growth rate. ONE India, established in 2018, has expanded its presence, boasting a network of 25 offices and 410 employees by 2022. As of November 2023, it operates 22 weekly services, collectively serving 11 ports across India, as reported by the company.
