The Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE) and the Hydrocarbon Sector Skill Council (HSSC) have entered into a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance skill development in India’s hydrocarbon sector. The MoU was signed by Atul Sobti, Director General, SCOPE, and S.K. Bose, CEO, HSSC, in the presence of senior officials from both organizations.

The partnership aims to address skill gaps and enhance workforce capabilities in the hydrocarbon and allied industries. At the signing ceremony, Atul Sobti emphasized the importance of continuous upskilling, reskilling, and unlearning outdated practices in today’s rapidly evolving professional landscape. He highlighted the sector’s transformation amid global shifts toward a Just Transition, noting the rise of electric vehicles and the need to prepare the workforce for emerging skill requirements.

S.K. Bose underscored the significance of the collaboration, aligning it with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of transforming India into a global skill hub. He noted that the partnership would play a pivotal role in equipping the workforce with the tools needed to navigate current and future industry challenges.

SCOPE has been actively working with strategic partners to foster continuous learning and capacity building within Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs). The MoU seeks to bridge existing skill gaps and prepare the workforce for the hydrocarbon sector's future demands.

This collaboration marks a significant step in driving India’s ambitions to become a global leader in skill development and workforce readiness.
