Suzlon Group has received a contract for a 225MW wind power initiative from Everrenew Energy in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The project is set to be situated in Vengaimandalam within the Trichy district and Ottapidaram in the Tuticorin district of Tamil Nadu. Suzlon is set to deliver 75 wind turbines of the S144-140m model, each boasting a rated capacity of 3MW.

The turbines belong to Suzlon's 3-3.15MW product range and will be mounted on hybrid lattice tubular towers. Suzlon will oversee the entire project, from installation to commissioning, and will also offer extensive ongoing operations and maintenance services. The generated electricity will be distributed to commercial and industrial customers.

The initiative is expected to produce sufficient clean electricity to meet the needs of 185,000 households and contribute to an annual reduction of 731,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions. The turbines utilize doubly-fed induction generator technology, ensuring seamless integration into the utility network and adherence to grid specifications for efficiency.

Suzlon Group CEO JP Chalasani stated, “Each repeat order is a matter of pride for us. Everrenew has been a cherished customer, and we are grateful that they have reaffirmed their faith in our comprehensive and proven product portfolio, customized for the Indian wind regime".
