Human health is the most significant aspect in our daily lives today and to keep that disease or illness free, probiotics and enzymes work as a support for a healthy human body. The usage of probiotics and enzymes has a major role to play in the pharma and food industries. Advanced Enzyme Technologies Ltd. (AETL) is an Indian MNC engaged in the manufacturing of Enzymes and Probiotics for more than six decades now serving over twenty five industries including human nutrition, food & beverages, animal feed, textile, detergents, and many more. With its R&D and manufacturing setup in India, US and Germany it successfully caters to countries across the globe.

"Serratiopeptidase enzyme is our flagship product in Human Nutrition catering to about 75percent of the global demand. The probiotics such as Bacillus Coagulans LBSC, Bacillus Clausii, Bacillus Subtilis our clinically studied offering in the health and dietary supplement, functional food, food supplements, food, beverage industry, and animal feed industry, which are also the major contributors in the recent times”, says Rahul kirkinde AVP - Human Nutrition. AETL is also a contributor to green chemistry through its biocatalyst enzymes in the specialty chemical and active pharmaceutical industry. Its probiotic strain is one of the most robust strains which can tolerate the rigours of modern food processing conditions. It is highly thermo
stable and shows broad pH stability, well characterized, and proven efficacy through clinical studies. This strain can also tolerate High Pressure Pasteurization even at low pH.

"Our Probiotics are clinically studied for Treatment of Acute Diarrhoea with Abdominal discomfort and Flatulence and also Drug-induced constipation with FGID symptoms”, Mukund Kabra, Whole Time Director. The food industry incorporates AETLs probiotics in yogurts, fruit juices, health drinks, bakery products, and so on. The products are offered based on the customer requirements in terms of label declarations, local statutory regulations compliance and process stability constraints. The proposition is made with supporting data on global trends and clinical studies. It has more than sixty five strains of enzymes and six strains of Probiotics which are clinically researched. It also owns more than 30 registered patents and a few more patent applications submitted as well. The facilities are GMP certified and products are granted GRAS status and EFSA registered.

"We have a huge clientele list in the pharma space for probiotics as these are always used in combination with a few of the antibiotics and hence cover all the major pharma companies in India”, Mukund confirms. However, AETLs enzymes and probiotics are manufactured via a fermentation process and hence are ecofriendly claimed as vegetative in the source. Health issues associated with microbiota dysbioses like inflammatory bowel disorders, ulcers, and tumours, irritable bowel syndrome, antibiotic associated diarrhoea, metabolic syndrome obesity, kidney stones are taken care of with the probiotics and hence these are formulated along with the antibiotics dosage form in the pharma industry.

Advanced Enzyme Group turn overs are around $70 million for the year 2020 and with the introduction of the new Probiotics strains and Bio-catalyst enzyme, AETL is aiming a growth of $140 million in the next five years. AETL was also elected as a winner of 'Excellence in R&D Development of new product/technology' at the UBM India Pharma Awards in 2018. Its Probiotics are however tried and tested by different MNCs globally and have built up a trust related to its efficacy and quality. This has enabled the company to produce more probiotic strains which will be launched in the coming days.
