IndianOil Chairman Sarthak Behuria Joins Reliance Industries

 Si Team Sarthak Behuria, the Former Chairman of integrated energy major Indian Oil Corporation and Bharath Petroleum Chairman has joined Reliance Industries Limited(RIL)as a senior advisor.

The industry veteran Behuria will implement strategic superintendence and leadership to the new Reliance and BP merged enterprise directed on fuel retail trade in addition to operating jointly with the Reliance leadership team on various subjects of strategic value. Behuria is deemed as a doyen in the energy domain
became the Chairman of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited(BPCL) in July 2002. Scaling the career path he has proved excellence in the domain. He was the Chairman of IndianOil Corporation(IOC)during 2005-10. During this span of time, his decisive leadership with respect to diversification as well as backward and forward integration drove IOC towards 100 per cent increase in revenue growth.

He is recognized as the one who moulded BPCL's retail process by concentrating on client expectations. He was the driving force behind the “Pure for Sure” campaign which highlighted the significance of quality for the first time in the oil industry, reported IANS.

In the previous stint as Chairman he nurtured the companies in the Fortune 500 rankings with a 25 percent annual increase in revenues.

Post his tenure as IOC Chairman Behuria was partnered with two private sector organizations as Group President, KK Modi Group of Companies from 2010 to 2016, and as Executive Director, SEZ, APSEZ, Adani Group (LPG/LNG business), between 2016 and 2019, the statement said.
