In Thiruvananthapuram today, Industries Minister P. Rajeeve inaugurated an innovative online platform for promoting and marketing textiles made by state-owned units. Available at the platform created by the Board for Public Sector Transformation with the help of C-DIT allows products from all textile units within the Industries Department to be marketed and sold via electronic bidding and e-auctions.

Rajeeve referred to the platform as a central element of the government's larger strategy to reinvent public sector undertakings, making them more competitive, market-oriented, and financially viable. He underlined that if a specific product is not profitable, the aim is to shift immediately and bring in a more viable substitute. "If a project is not economical, the aim is to launch the subsequent product", he mentioned, demonstrating an active and flexible attitude to public-sector business management.

Rajeeve also reported encouraging news of the sector's fiscal health. As many as 21 state-owned enterprises have turned the corner towards profitability this year alone, largely due to product diversification and product positioning efforts in response to changing consumer needs and societal expectations. Offloading responsibility onto institutions and challenging them to innovate, he emphasized how bespoke product lines are able to drive both salience and sales.
