Geographically, India is a country that receives ample sunlight & wind throughout the year. It means we have tremendous opportunity to use solar & wind energy for our electricity production. Green energy solutions like solar and wind, are enabling organizations to transform themselves into environ-mentally responsible units along with cutting their energy costs through the installation of renewable technologies. Solar has been installed through various means like utility scale projects, rooftop installations, solar water pumps, solar micro grids, etc.

Tata, the name personifies trust and reliability. With a legacy of more than 31 years, Tata Power Solar is a strong believer in endorsing solar energy in the country. As one of the largest solar manufacturers in India, Tata Power Solar operates world-class manufacturing unit in Bengaluru. The company has recently announced a significant expansion of its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Bengaluru, taking the total production capacity of cells and modules to 1,100 MW. This includes expansion of its manufacturing capacity of Cell from 300 MW to 530 MW with Mono PERC and Module from 400 MW to 580 MW with Mono PERC Half cut technology. The expansion is based on the significant increase in demand that the company has seen for its solar modules, as well as the expected increase in demand due to supportive policy steps announced recently by the Government of India for creating `At-manirbhar Bharat'.

Tata Power Solar is the go-to premiere name in EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) for large utility-scale and rooftop projects. Empowering the lives of millions, Tata Power Solar has commissioned many prestigious projects that stand proud as a benchmark in the industry. One such project is the 300MWp DC in Pavagada Solar
Park, Karnataka for SoftBank Group. Pavagada Solar Park has provided us a unique opportunity to enhance our generation with 2GW capacity of the installation. Establishment of solar project in this area is seen as a one of the pioneers in Solar Park in the entire Country. Another remarkable project is the 100MW plant under DCR for the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. This project was delivered three months ahead of the deadline.

Besides the aforementioned projects, Tata Power Solar comes with a successful background of executing many other large projects such as the 105 MWp of Floating solar at Kayamkulam, 95MW Dhuravan at Gujarat, 300 MW in Pavagada, 50 MW Kasargod at Kerala, 56 MW Greenko, 30 MWp Solar Power Plant in Lapanga, Odisha to name a few. Being one of the largest specialized EPC players in the country, Tata Power Solar has a portfolio of more than 5.4 GW of ground-mount utility-scale projects across the country till date.

Solar Water Pump segment is an-other major segment where Tata Power Solar has demonstrated rapid growth. The company has installed more than 38,000 solar water pumps across the country. These Solar-Powered Water Pumps help farmers to transform their lives by providing sustainable & timely water availability thereby increasing their yield and income. The system boosts the income of the farmers, reduces the reliance on erratic power, and increases water supply without incurring any fuel cost. Farmers, no longer have to go to the field at midnight to check the water supply which ensures their safety. Additionally, it creates employment opportunity particularly in the rural areas & improves standard of living. People do not have to walk miles to get clean drinking water thereby improving their health. Installing solar water pumps can address this issue and bring them respite.

Tata Power Solar has major market share in the Rooftop space in India. The company has a total installation base of over 515MW in India till date. Some of the landmark projects are 16MW projects at the RSSB Educational and Environmental Society, Punjab, the World's largest rooftop solar plant at a single location. The company had to ensure that its products adhered to the safety standards required for asbestos roofs and look after the safety concerns of employees as well as lakhs of devotees who flocked to the complex. This project was executed within five months in accordance with the highest quality and safety parameters.

Tata Power Solar has also constructed the largest carport in India at Kochi airport, with a total installed capacity of 2.68MW, and 865kW - World's largest solar powered Cricket stadium at Mumbai. The installation of this project generates over 1.12 million units of electricity per year, leading to 25 percent of savings in the cost of power consumption. Currently the stadium consumes 4 lakh kWh/month. The company has more than 20,000 residential customers across the country.

Matching footsteps with the words of Sri Jamsetji Tata, Founder, Tata Group "Clean, cheap and abundant power is one the basic ingredients for the economic progress of a city, state or country", Tata Power Solar is gratified that they will extend the legacy with their work, value and vision of providing the country with a greener and cleaner tomorrow.
