“Before we entered the market the only options for e-waste recycling machinery were to import from China or Europe and both options had their own limitations. Hence to make life easier for the Indian recyclers both existing and new startups we started to design and develop machinery for recycling of e-waste. This now gave the Indian recyclers an affordable reliable and effective
technology made by an Indian vendor and supported locally. We have now increased our portfolio to other types of waste as well,” says Sujit Kochrekar, Co-Founder and Technical Director, ResposeIndia.
The first and only Indian company, ResposeIndia provides complete solutions for recycling of various kinds of waste. The machines are entirely made in India and the machine plant follows a modular design with capacity expansion feature. Also elucidating about the new technologies and developments, ResposeIndia’s Founder and CEO, DB Prabhu states “New technologies are a regular feature and that acts as the backbone of our company. We have a continuous product improvement policy and keep upgrading our machines on a regular basis. New product development is an ongoing affair for us. While providing technologies to others we also use a great amount of technology ourselves and conduct regular internal training sessions for all of us from the shop floor workers to the managerial staff. ”
Over the years ResposeIndia has served many clients and as of January 2020, has installed 23 e-waste recycling plants of different capacities across India. Some of the major clients served by ResposeIndia are Bharuch Enviro Infrastructure Limited Kerala Enviro Infrastructure Limited and Silicon Planet Recycling Pvt Ltd. ResposeIndia has recently launched solutions for MSW and Tyre recycling and the company is intending to launch more solutions in other areas of waste management including Automobile, Plastics, Water, Agricultural waste and more. While the firm has been growing organically to date, it is now stepping on a rapid growth road map.
“I am soon launching a book for guiding aspiring entrepreneurs to set up a profitable and scalable e-waste recycling business. I am also authoring another book dedicated to exploring multiple ideas on environment centric businesses. We make machines. But selling machines is incidental. Our core business is to enable entrepreneurs to setup, run and grow profitable environment centric enterprises”, concludes DB Prabhu.
